The Charts: Billboard, May 19, 1973: #65 Yessongs- Yes [First week on this chart] Billboard, June 23, 1973: YES GOLD NEW YORK-- The new Yes album, "Yessongs," has been certified a gold record by the RIAA. "Yessongs" is a three-LP set recorded by the group on tour during 1972. In addition to the current album, the RIAA has certified "The Yes Album" gold, bringing the group's total awards to four. Yes records for Atlantic Records. Billboard, Dec. 8, 1973: YES MAKES U.S. SCENE NEW YORK-- Yes, Atlantic group from England, embark on their largest U.S. tour to date on Feb. 7. With initial dates set for Florida, the act will tour through March 26 when they play Baton Rouge, La. Venues will include Madison Square Garden, Nassau Coliseum, the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Detroit's Cobo Hall, the Chicago Amphitheater, Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis and Tampa Stadium. Premier Talent is handling the bookings. Tour coincides with the upcoming release of a double LP set by the group, "Tales from the Topographic Ocean," produced by Eddie Offord and Yes. Gryphon has been signed as special guest opening act for the tour. Billboard, Dec. 15, 1973: Yes LP Breaks Ground in U.K. LONDON-- The new Yes album became the first LP in Britain to ship gold on Monday under regulations introduced by BPI on April 1. The album -- "Tales From Topographic Oceans" on Atlantic -- sold $375,000 in records and tapes at dealer price, less tax, before a single copy crossed the retailers' counter to the public. Yes are currently touring Britain playing a set that mainly comprises material from "Tales From Topographic Oceans." They recently sold out five consecutive nights at London's Rainbow.
